It’s getting pretty close, and there are PLENTY of options to choose from for JULY 4th, one of the biggest celebrations of the year! It falls on a Wednesday this year, which is the only downside, but it won’t stop the weekend/weekday celebrations & fireworks from happening! Here are my picks for a few things going on in the Metroplex! Usually, I am a homebody and would cookout with family, stay by the pool and, depending on how I am feeling, go watch fireworks somewhere. But this year, I feel like being more festive!!!
JUNE 29 – RED, WHITE & BEATS - Hosted by Rhonda Jenkins & DJ Bradford!! Kick off your Fourth of July weekend early with this PARTY! THIS WILL BE ONE you do NOT want to miss!! You get to mix & mingle and dance until you DROP! There will be photos, sweet treats, and drinks - and you won’t leave without making new friends! And, if you haven't met Rhonda, she is the life of the party, I'm telling you! It will be held at Pazzo Uptown and the festivities begin at 9PM! For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
JUNE 30 – RED, WHITE & BREW at Noble Rey Brewing – This one is for my beer drinking friends! Join the 4th ANNUAL beer party! Doors open at noon. They will have 3 NEIPA's on tap, plus several beer stations to keep you hydrated. They will also have 18 taps inside, 6 taps outside, a Randall, beers-to-go; live music, food by Chicago's Taste and More & Aunt Shirley's Chicken and Waffles! Cost of ticket gets you (3) Beers AND a glass to drink out of! Additional drink cards can be purchased for $10 day of. 21 & up only!
JULY 3 – Kaboom Town – Addison – Kaboom Town has been named among the top fireworks shows in the country! I can’t believe I have never been to this! I may try to go this year, but I know it gets crowded! Admission is free but space is limited. The Addison Circle Park opens at 4:30pm and fireworks begin around 9:30pm. There are dozens of restaurants you can watch fireworks from, so if you are planning on going, go ahead and make reservations NOW! Other activities include face-painting, rides & a carnival. Lots to choose from!
JULY 3 – Southlake Stars & Stripes Town Square – Make it a family affair! You can relax and enjoy the rest of the evening with music and activities for all ages, including crafts, games, and inflatables for the kids. There will be plenty of concessions to entertain every palate, and Frank Edgar Cornish, IV Park will play host to a variety of activities for all ages and live music from Downtown Fever. There will be a spectacular fireworks show that begins around 9:30pm. And it’s FREE!
JULY 3 & 4 – Rangers Game + Fireworks – It definitely wouldn’t be 4th of July without Fireworks! They will have the fireworks show BOTH nights, so you are in luck. So, why not spend an evening at the ballpark, eating hot dogs, nachos & margaritas and watching some of the best fireworks around town?! You can bet money it will be crowded, but be prepared to have fun and relax!
JULY 4 – Independence Day Texas Pool Party Plano, TX – Now THIS is what I did almost every year growing up – talk about sweet memories! My brother used to be a lifeguard here, and I would go to the pool with either my siblings or classmates for the day. We all had SO much fun! If you have never heard of the Texas Pool, it is exactly what it sounds like - a pool in the shape of Texas. There are adult water games along with games for kids going on all day long! It is open form 12-6pm. They have a snack bar, but you are also welcome to bring your own cooler with picnic food for your family. Tickets for non-members are just $7.50! I would highly recommend it!
If none of this sounds interesting to you, no worries. You can cookout, hangout or just relax somewhere else. Also, check your local listings for fireworks & parades in your area because there will be all kind of events going on that day! Enjoy the day doing what you like best, and hopefully it will be with some good company!
OUTFIT DEETS!
Keep it casual this fourth with blue jean shorts! Find a white tank and red accessories and you are SET! In the very first photo - I am wearing a blue gingham top I got from Modern Vintage Boutique. GIVE ME ALL THE GINGHAM, I CAN'T GET ENOUGH! I paired it with red stretchy shorts from Forever 21 & I had a festive outfit! The bottom pic I am wearing shorts, a white tank top with a matching cover up and headband I got from Claire's! It's PERFECT to celebrate the 4th of July!
Have a Happy 4th of July everyone, and be safe out there!
Xoxo,
