FALL IS HERE! It’s time to start decorating, which means buying ALL the pumpkins! It also means there are SO many fun things to do, and they are just around the corner!! I’ve rounded up my top picks for Fall/Halloween festivities here – these are the MUST DO’s for Fall 2018, so don’t miss out on all the fun!
State Fair of Texas – Okay, I know so many people who have never been?! Crazy! But, this is for everyone, especially families! It’s open September 28-October 21, and you can bet it will be crowded, so plan accordingly! Whether it’s the fried food, rides, the car show, shops, games, or just a quick snap with Big Tex, there are plenty of actives to choose from. Plus, the weather is starting to cool down, so it won’t be quite as miserable outside! They will also have an impressive lineup of music, including Ludacris, Aaron Watson, Hunter Hayes, and Casting Crowns. More information can be found here.
Autumn at the Arboretum – Probably Dallas’ biggest Pumpkin Patch in the area, come see all the amazing displays of pumpkins!! Perfect for families & kiddos. Not only pumpkins galore, but beautiful flowers and scenery as you spend your time exploring and walking around! Ticket information can be found here.
Preston Trails & Farms Pumpkin Patch – Located in Gunter, Texas, this pumpkin patch seems to have it all! Food, Petting Farm, Pumpkin Farm, & Hayrides! There are many other pumpkin patches in the DFW area at local churches, but if you want something in the country, this is your pick! More information can be found here.
Oktoberfest in Fort Worth – THIS WEEKEND! September 27-29! Oktoberfest is a three-day German festival, which includes German food, biergartens, live music, craft beers, a Dachshund Dash, Beer Barrel Rolling Race, and PLENTY MORE! Tickets are only $15 for all three days. Find more information here.
Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch – Beginning Oct 1st-31st, this pumpkin patch has a wide variety of activities for everyone. On the list includes Hayrides, Pumpkin Picking, Bounce Houses, Playground, & Picture Opportunities for the family! On weekends, they have vendors who will sell food. Find out more here.
Haunted Houses – There are so many to choose from, but my top 3 are Dark Hour (Plano), Cutting Edge (Fort Worth), and Fright Fest (Arlington). I am not a haunted house person, but I have done Dark Hour… so if I can do it, YOU can do it! 😊 Cutting Edge is for the BRAVE ones. Fright Fest at Six Flags seems to be middle of the road, and if you like the rides, you get to do that too! Make sure you do all your research on these BEFORE you go! 😉
Haunt Jaunt Nighttime 5k & Fun Run – Yes, there is even a Halloween run on October 20th! Located in Plano, TX at the Oak Point Nature Hills Reserve, there will be fun activities for friends and families to enjoy the Halloween holiday! And, I’m sure there will be many entertaining costumes along the way! More information can be found here.
Live Concerts – Artists like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Fallout Boy & Jay Z will be making appearances in Dallas for live concerts throughout the month of October!
Other activities for fall/Halloween include drive-in movies located in Ennis, Fort Worth & Lewisville. They are all reasonably priced, and it’s such a FUN way to watch a movie! There will be many local Halloween parties as well, so start planning your costume NOW! It’s going to be quite busy with all the holidays coming up, so make sure you pick & choose your favorites!
I hope you a FABULOUS Tuesday, friends!
Xoxo,
